MetroEast Community Media is delighted to announce an addition to our holiday traditions by hosting our “First Annual Snowflake Contest”.
Submissions to the contest will begin on Dec. 8th and continue through Dec. 19th at MetroEast Community Media located at 829 NE Eighth St. in Gresham. Community members are invited to stop by to create snowflakes during public hours of operation: Monday, Thursday and Friday, 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. as well as Saturday and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Arts and crafts supplies will be provided.
The staff of MetroEast Community Media will judge the submissions on Dec. 22nd. Prizes will be awarded to first, second and third place winners.

Got Muzic! Benefit Concert
Join MetroEast Community Media and local musicians for two nights of live, local music to celebrate the creation of new radio station, KZME.
“Got Muzic!”, an all ages show that will feature ten local bands, will take place on Friday, Dec. 26th and Saturday, Dec. 27th from 7 p.m. to midnight at the Hawthorne Theater located at 1507 SE 39th Ave. in Portland.
The following bands are scheduled to appear: Caught In Motion, Chris Margolin & The Silence, Ezekiel Dream, Ill Lucid Onset, Ruth, Deuce, Honest to Empire, Nitro Norm, Violet Isle and Will Coca. Musical styles will range from indie to rock to hip hop to soul providing a sample of some of the diverse

music in the area.
A limited number of advance tickets are available for $14.00 at www.kzme.fm or by calling 503-667-8848 ext. 360. The advance ticket price will include admission to both nights of the “Got Muzic!” concert. General admission to the event will be $10.00 each night.

Oregon 150
MetroEast Community Media is a proud partner of the Oregon 150 Sesquicentennial Project. Community members will be invited to tape their "Oregon Stories" to air on our channels in 2009. Community leaders will be invited to tape their stories on Tuesday Jan. 27 between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. The public is invited to tape their stories on Wednesday Jan. 28 between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m.
The professional staff at MetroEast will assist participants in crafting an appropriate story and provide technical support during our taping dates. Interested participants should contact Teri Jensen, Director of Volunteer Services at 503-667-8848, ext. 326 or teri@metroeast.org. Deadline to register to participate is Jan. 14.
Stories must not exceed 2 minutes in length (approximately 150 words) and can cover such topics as:
* How did your family come to live in Oregon?
* Why do you love living in Oregon?
* What does being an Oregonian mean to you?
