In addition to on-going series programs, the MetroEast Production staff is busy videotaping many community events each month. With the assistance of our dedicated volunteer crews, you'll find MetroEast producers at music festivals, parades, forums and other happenings in our area.  Below are some of the recent events we've covered.


The Court System
"The Court System" is all about civic education and the vital role the judicial branch of government plays in maintaining our democracy, it presents an overview of the court system as a whole and how it is there to serve us all. This video was produced by the Multnomah Bar Foundation & MBF Civic Education Fund, in association with MetroEast Community Media.


The Courthouse
"The Courthouse" is all about a day in the life of a county courthouse. Filmed on location at the Multnomah County Courthouse, the video is all about the comings and goings, different kinds of trials, alternative diversion courts, and most of all, this video shows that the courts are there for all of us. This video was produced by the Multnomah Bar Foundation & MBF Civic Education Fund, in association with MetroEast Community Media.



Shu-Te High School 2012 Music and Dance Performance
Every year the Portland-Kaohsiung Sister City Association hosts a delegation from Kaohsiung Taiwan during the Rose Festival.  This concert at David Douglas Performing Arts Center showcases music and dance presented by exchange students from Shu-Te High School.

East County Courthouse
In Spring of 2012 the new East County Courthouse opened.


Tapestry of Tales 2011
Presented by the Multnomah County Library, this event features Len Cabral, Barbara McBride-Smith, Kim Weitkamp and MC Alton Chung.


Mt. Hood Pops Winter Concert 2011
The "End of Winter" Concert helps the community say goodbye to winter, and look forward to spring's fairer weather.

MetroEast brings you "A Pops Celebration" the first performance of the 28th annual Mt. Hood Pops concert season, held at the Mt. Hood Community College Theater.

Summerfest Parade 2010
This year Troutdale celebrated its 38th annual summer festival with a parade and a variety of other family activities. This program features the parade, hosted by Paula Goldie and Casey Ryan, and highlights of the entertainment, food, and family fun at Glenn Otto park.

Gussie McRobert Mini-Documentary


Gussie McRobert, beloved former mayor of Gresham, has announced she is dying.  MetroEast took a moment to reflect with her over her life and her accomplishments in office in light of this and her new book "To Hell and Back".  The following 7-minute documentary is our tribute to her strength and contributions to our city and our lives.

2009 Troutdale SummerFest

On July 18th, Troutdale celebrated its 37th annual summer festival with a parade and a variety of other activities. This program features the parade, hosted by Sharon Nesbit and Casey Ryan, and highlights of the entertainment, food, and family fun at Glenn Otto park.





Gresham Center for the Arts Plaza Grand Opening

On June 6th, Gresham celebrated the opening of the new plaza at the Center for the Arts. The plaza is the first phase of the complex which will eventually include a proscenium theater and event center.

The event featured live music from "Point Juncture WA", "The Dimes", "Horse Feathers", and  "Loch Lomond", as well as a performance by drama students from Centennial High School, and a variety of family activities.
